deutsch Hand-made crawling and first-steps shoes

The Story

A designerin for little feet: Sonja Rendez lives and work in Cologne but sells her crawling shoes even to Italy and Taiwan. She got her first order on a playground. Sonja Rendez had sewn soft crawling leather shoes for her son, Paul, because she had not found something fitting for the transition time between crawling and first steps. Today, five years later, her brand Anna und Paul - called after her two elder children - is sold in well-known children´s stores in Frankfurt, Mainz and surroundings. She sits no longer at the sewing machine but let produce the shoes in a small manufacture in Portugal. She is very proud of what she has developed, says Rendez in her office in Cologne, in Agnesviertel district, where the shoe boxes pile up to the ceiling. Also important to her is that this business fits well with the care of her three children - in the meantime 7 and 11 years and 6 months old - completely opposite to her former occupation. "As an employed fashion designer you must be available almost round the clock to jet round the world". In the meantime her company supplies approximately 150 stores in Germany and further 30 in Italy, Belgium, Austria and the Netherlands with two collections yearly.
